Categorize & Bundle by Component
Group identical beams, columns, purlins, and bracings. Securely bundle them with heavy-duty steel strapping. Use timber dunnage between layers to prevent bending and allow for forklift access.
Protect Critical Surfaces & Threads
Apply a rust-preventive oil or VCI coating to all surfaces. Protect bolt threads, connection plates, and finished surfaces with caps, sleeves, or VCI paper. This prevents corrosion and damage during transit.
Use Robust Dunnage & Secure Bundles
Place bundles on sturdy, evenly-spaced timber skids treated to ISPM 15 standards. Ensure strapping is tight and bundles are rigid to withstand stacking and ship motion without deformation.
Implement Clear & Durable Marking
Mark each bundle with waterproof tags/paint. Include Item No., Description, Dimensions, Gross/Tare Weight, and Lift Points. Follow shipping mark requirements for easy site identification.
Choose Appropriate Export Packaging
Use waterproof PP woven sheets or tarps for large bundles. Pack small parts, bolts, and fasteners in sealed, marked plywood crates (ISPM 15) with internal dunnage and desiccant bags.
Ensure Accurate Documentation
Prepare a detailed Packing List matching marks on bundles. Include contents, quantities, weights, and dimensions for each package. Attach necessary certificates (Material, IPPC) for customs clearance.
